Skin Care

Making Skin Care a Habit

When we go to a pharmacy or skin care shop, the usual reasons for our purchases are: preventing dryness of the skin, regulating the oiliness, acne and other skin concerns are the factors when we make a decision. Though there might be an impression that this might increase our expenses, this routine is absolutely necessary and effortless, too.

Basically, we need to start at an earlier time to prevent any further damage to our skin. Not only it prevents us from skin issues, but protects us from the damaging effects of the environment, like the weather. At the end of the day, we want to simply have a healthy and great looking skin at any time of the year. So, we better understand our skin well and treat it with care, of course.

It is quick and simple. We need to check our skin type first. There is an oily, dry and combination of both skin types which could also depend on the weather in your geographical location. However, your skin type must be consistent most of the time.

Must-Haves for the Skin

The following items need to be on your list to achieve that glowing and healthy looking skin.

Cleansing Products

Using a cleansing product is what you need to wash the face instead of using a regular bar soap which you normally use. Make sure to clean the face as gently as possible. After using the cleanser, rinse your face with lukewarm water so you could maximise the results.

Choosing the perfect cleansing product may be challenging at first but let us make it simple, if you have an oily skin, choose oil-free products. If your skin is dry, avoid using products with fragrance or with alcohol, this will make your skin even drier.

After using your cleanser, you may use a moisturiser. It takes a little time to choose the right moisturising product so just have to be patient when you are searching for it. Moisturisers instantly treat dry skin, which also leaves your skin feeling smooth and hydrated for a long time. It works effectively after every shower to lock the moisture on your skin. Applying a moisturiser on a daily basis will increase the chances of getting a healthier looking skin.

For some beauty conscious, they prefer using a serum as part of their regimen, because it contains antioxidants, which help in improving the skin’s firmness, as well as, smooth uneven skin areas. It also has anti ageing ingredients which is helpful especially if stress is slowly damaging your skin.

For people who have dry skin, you may use a toner if you prefer not to use a cleanser. It replenishes any lost nutrients after washing the face. It also reduces redness on your skin and restores natural moisture after application.

Sunscreen Protection

Wearing a sunscreen lotion might be a bit hassle in the past but nowadays some moisturisers already contain the needed SPF for the day. You just need to check it on the label. Using the right SPF will give you lots of skin benefits. It prevents sun-damaged wrinkles, skin cancer and early signs of ageing.  We must use sunscreen protection each day to make sure we are always protected from skin problems. Make sure to bring one all the time wherever you go, even you only get low exposure to sunlight we must still wear one.

Exfoliating Products

Of all the skin care products, this is the one you do not need to apply on a daily basis. If your skin is dry, your skin tends to exfoliate faster so applying it on a weekly basis is enough to get results. This is recommended to be applied after washing your face and prior to use of moisturising products. Skin experts would suggest their patients to use chemical exfoliating products instead of facial scrubs to protect the skin layer which has a protective barrier.

These items must be on your list each time you visit a pharmacy or beauty shop. It might seem it costs much, but the benefits are limitless. Including these items on your routine may be a bit of a challenge when you are getting started, but wait until you see the results.

We must understand that each skin type has a different approach and product to use. Always focus on fragile areas because most of the time, these areas need special treatment and we do not want to miss it. We must use the products as gentle as we could possibly do. Be aware of any external factors which may cause stress like smoke, dust, pollution, etc. Cover and wash up as soon as you reach home. Take extra care of your lips as well. Use cream to ensure it restores the natural moisture your lips need.

We could provide you with tons of reasons why regular skin care is necessary. It is not practical to have minor surgery or medical treatments if you can do something about it as early as today. In fact, it is better to have a natural glow on your skin than spending too much for a look which is not going to last for a long time.

It’s good to invest in a skin care routine that can repair, protect, hydrate your skin as you go older. You’ll be more confident if you love the skin you’re in.
