Are You A Cruelty-Free Beauty Junkie?

Are You A Cruelty-Free Beauty Junkie?

To look your best doesn’t have to be complicated especially when you’re transitioning to Cruelty-free beauty products. If you haven’t started cleaning your beauty routine from animal tested products, don’t you think it’s about time to do so? There are so many obvious reasons why Cruelty-Free beauty products are so much better and safer than traditional products manufactured by big companies. Believe me, you deserve better! Your skin and overall health deserve high quality natural and organic ingredients that will help protect and maintain your skin’s youthful glow.

What does Cruelty-Free mean?

Before we dwell into Cruelty-Free products, let’s tackle what it really means. Cruelty-free, in a nutshell, pertains to products and its ingredients that haven’t been tested on animals or during any process involved when these products were manufactured.

Now that’s settled, let’s talk about Vegan products. Does it mean that these products are also Vegan? Some people often use Vegan and Cruelty-free interchangeable but these two terms are actually different.

Vegan products are products that do not contain animal ingredients of any sort. It doesn’t mean that all Cruelty-free products are Vegan. Some are Vegan whilst some are not because they still derive ingredients from animals like beeswax, honey, lanolin and carmine.

Should I go for Vegan and Cruelty-Free Beauty Products?

Will you go for both Vegan and Cruelty-free beauty products? Well, why not? If you feel that this is something that you are truly passionate about, then go for it! But you don’t necessarily have to force yourself into this mindset if you feel that you’re not comfortable doing so. Going this path requires a lot of dedication as well as research since we are certainly not experts. We admit there will always be things that confuse us when it comes to Cruelty-free and Vegan products but if you have the passion and dedication, then this journey would be painless whilst you transition towards this animal-friendly path.

How to Start Converting Your Closet to Cruelty-Free?

The process can be overwhelming at first but don’t get carried away. Just remind yourself not to replace all your beauty products at once.

You can start with the products that you use the most one at a time, for example, your skincare products. You can start with your cleanser or moisturiser; find a cruelty-free product that suits your skin type. Make sure that you’re satisfied with it before you move on to replace another product.

You can also start with your makeup products especially your holy grails like your foundation or primer. There’s too many out in the market that’s been tested on animals so finding one that has not been and packed with natural ingredients would be ideal.

The transition may take some time considering that it’s not practical to accomplish everything overnight. It may even be expensive considering the products have never been tested on animals but it’ll all be worth it in the end.

You may still have products left that have been tested on animals, so don’t be too hasty in throwing those away. It’s perfectly fine to make use of them until you’ve run out of supply which is the right time to start looking for a substitute that is animal friendly.
